The National Food Authority (NFA) has lined up various activities during this year’s celebration of the National Grains Industry Week, from September 20-26, 2017. This year’s theme is “Pagkaing Sapat at Ligtas, Adhikain Nating Lahat” and the week-long activities will involve NFA stakeholders and their role and significance in the food security value chain.
A major highlight of the week-long celebration is the awarding of NFA’s best stakeholders during the kick-off ceremonies to be held September 20 at the NFA’s Food Development Center (FDC) in FTI Compound, Taguig City.
This year’s awardees are: Farmers Organization – Grand winner – Amaling Menoot Irrigators Association, Inc. – Chairman, Rustica D, Panganiban and 2nd Place – Northern Cagayan Seed Producers MPC – General Manager, Solomon P. Torres. Rice Miller/Processor – Grand Winner and Hall of Famer – Family Choice Grains Processing Centers – Chief Executive Officer, Ralph Caesar E. Tio. Provincial Grains Retailer’s Group: Grand Winner is Baguio-Benguet Grains Retailers’ Group – President, Nicolas C. Medrano, Jr., 2nd Place – Quirino Grains Retailers’ Association – President, Mario L. Fernando and 3rd Place – GRECON – Cavite Chapter – Past President, Eugenio S. Negrido and Newly Elected President, James Escabel and Certificate of Appreciation for GRECON, QUIRINO – President, Mario L. Fernando.
A Photo Exhibit at the FDC lobby shall feature the agency’s history and current activities and reforms being undertaken.
Other activities include: Rice-Based Products and Rice Varieties Exhibits; Seminars on Food Safety for NFA-FDC, Technical Research & Services Department (TRSD), National Capital Region – South District Office (NCR-SDO) and Cavite Provincial Office personnel; Feeding Program at Sitio Palanas, Quezon City; NFA-Gender and Development (GAD) Blood Letting Activity; GAD-Sponsored Health/Wellness Check; and Employee Relations/Wellness Activities.
A closing program on September 26 at the Salvador H. Escudero Hall of the National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS), Visayas Avenue, Quezon City shall be highlighted by the awarding and recognition of outstanding NFA employees.
